Claim(s) Made Against Gerald David Corriher:

Claim Date: 1/31/2020

“In a written complaint dated January 29, 2020 and received on January 31, 2020, addressed to Bankers Life and Casualty Company (BLC), an insurance company affiliate of the Firm, [REDACTED] son-in-law, a Certified Financial Planner, filed a complaint on his behalf alleging the two Premium Bonus Indexed Annuities (PBIA) [REDACTED] purchased from BLC in May of 2019 were unsuitable. The complaint alleged that the premiums of the two annuities represented a significant amount of cash available for [REDACTED] and that he was misled when purchasing the annuities. The complaint asked for BLC to return of the entire premiums for both annuities back to [REDACTED]. BLC determined that the annuities were suitable investments, [REDACTED] was informed of their surrender schedule, and the request to cancel the annuities came outside of the “free-look“ period. While the PBIAs sold to [REDACTED] were not securities and were issued by BLC, the Firm is reporting this complaint because the source of funding for the BLC annuities came from the sale of securities recommended by a registered representative of this Firm.”

This claim, as of this posting, is currently Denied with a claim amount of $43,771.00 .
